One of the most historic figures of all time is showman, bison hunter and former soldier, “Buffalo Bill” Cody. During his lifetime he entertained thousands, amassed a fortune and received a Medal of Honor for “gallantry in action” while serving as a civilian scout for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment. Despite all of his fame and glory, Buffalo Bill died of kidney failure on January 10, 1917. At that time medicinal treatment was archaic and Golden health insurance was unheard of. His wife choose his final resting place at Lookout Mountain in Golden and he has laid there ever since.
